New pop acts seem to be popping up from everywhere lately and I’m certainly not complaining. Here we have Robin Antin‘s latest group of girls – G.R.L. Rumored to be the new Pussycat Dolls back in 2012, the girls – Simone Battle, Lauren Bennett, Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton, and Paula Van Oppen – made their debut today (June 17) with “Vacation,” their lead single which is also set to be featured on the upcoming Smurfs 2 soundtrack. Written and produced by Dr. Luke, Max Martin, Bonnie McKee and Henry Walter, “Vacation” is an upbeat pop number made perfect for summer with its pulsating synth-pop beat and addictive chanting chorus. Yeah, it’s a little young and generic but it’s for a kids movie soundtrack – what do you expect?. The track is super fun, bubbly, and serves as a great introduction for the girls. I get the feeling that this is just a taste of what G.R.L. have in store for us so get familiar. You can get “Vacation” bundled with Britney‘s single for the film “Ooh La La” on iTunes now. What do you guys think?
