Flashback Friday: Janet Jackson ‘Together Again’

This weeks Flashback Friday song belongs to actress, singer, songwriter, and true legend – Janet Jackson. Back in the day Janet was just known as the youngest child of the Jackson family, but that all quickly changed after the release of her career defining third studio album Control in 1986. Now at 47-years-old, Janet is still one of the most successful female recording artist ever, which made picking just one of her songs no easy task. But I’ve made my decision and it had to be “Together Again,” the second single from her sixth studio album, The Velvet Rope. The song topped the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart for two weeks, and is known as one of her most iconic. Even till this day, “Together Again” still has the power to put a smile on my face and I don’t think that will ever change. You just can’t go wrong with Janet, Miss Jackson if you’re nasty. Recently, Janet announced that she’s currently working on new music. “We are creating the concept and initial thoughts on the music,” she revealed to Billboard. “I am excited about the direction that we’re taking.” That’s right – get hyped y’all!

Yuss! I’ve been listening to a lot of Janet lately, especially The Velvet Rope. I was in high school when that came out and went to her concert when she toured this album in New Zealand, can’t believe how time has flown. Rope Burn is one of the sexiest songs ever 😀

My fave Janet is probably All For You because it was the song that was popular when I was a kid! Janet is an icon and I’m looking forward to her new work! 😀

I think “Everytime”‘s a li’l more nostalgic.. hehehe.. 🙂 although i think both All for You and Together Again are her best release, at least for my generation.. hehe

Together Again video was released in 1998. Where Have You been was released last year. Rihanna would not be where she was today if it weren’t for the music and videos and cultural boundaries made by Janet Jackson in the 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s. Janet changed the game for every female in pop and r&b music.

      Are you stupid
“Together Again” as Sean says was released 15 years ago fuckin TARD learn about math a lil bit.
I love Rihanna she’s phenomenal but her videos most of them are pure crap compared to Janet Jackson’s videos, cos Janet’s videos are legendary, they set standars, they were amazingly cool, specially this Video of Janet is one of her best, the technology to make the special effects is wonderful and of another level, the production, the choreography, the concept everything is superior to Where Have you been Rihanna and she will never have a video like this. So before you speak shit from your mouth go to the toilet and drop it there stupid spoiled whore.
