Flashback Friday: Mandy Moore ‘In My Pocket’
This weeks Flashback Friday song belongs to Mandy Moore; singer, actress, fashion designer, and the voice of Rapunzel in Tangled. Mandy first emerged onto the music scene back in 1999 when she was just 15-years-old, “In My Pocket” is the lead single from her 2001 self-titled third studio album. The record saw Mandy transition away from her bubblegum pop sound/teen pop image from her previous two albums into a more grown-up, serious artist direction. “In My Pocket” was only a moderate hit but it helped her differentiate herself from the pack of pop princess at the time. The Eastern-influnced rhythms and clever production flourishes made this one a big favorite of mine and I still jam to it all the time. Mandy currently has plans to release a seventh album later this year. Make it happen girl!
