Fall Out Boy Retruns with ‘My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark’

It’s been just over three years since Fall Out Boy stepped away from the music scene with an indefinite hiatus, causing fans to wonder if they’d ever hear from the band again. But this morning the guys announced their triumphant return, releasing a new single and tour dates ahead of a new album, Save Rock And Roll, due out in May 7 – the ten year anniversary of their 2003 studio debut, Take This To Your Grave. Lead single “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)” takes Patrick Stump’s pop-centric vocal stylings, vibrant vocal melodies, fun rhythmic elements and infuses it all with the theatrical and playful nature of everything Fall Out Boy and you’re left with this monster of a song. Its a nice progression for the boys and I’m really feeling it. What do you guys think?

In this note posted on their website, the band writes:

“When we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music. its why we started fall out boy in the first place. this isn’t a reunion because we never broke up. we needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us.

the future of fall out boy starts now.

save rock and roll…”
