Dido: ‘Let Us Move On’ feat. Kendrick Lamar!

Dido

Dido was huge back in the day when she rose to fame after Eminem used her hook on his hit single “Stan“. Though she managed to score two hits of her own with “White Flag” and “Life for Rent,” anything that followed was one big flop. Now the 40-year-old singer-songwriter is finally on her way back with her fourth studio album Girl Who Got Away due out on March 5th. The lead single is titled “No Freedom” and is scheduled for release on iTunes in January. Until then, Dido has released a surprising collaboration with the biggest new rapper in 2012, Kendrick Lamar entitled “Let Us Move On“. Produced by Jeff Bhasker, “Let Us Move On” includes Jeff‘s trademark blasts of vocal fuzz and icy hip-hop beats while Dido‘s angelic voice floats throughout like icing on top of a cake. It’s nothing life-changing but its still strong enough to get me excited for the new album. What do you guys think?

  3. I really liked this… glad she’s coming back!

  4. Simply looking at her wikipedia discography you can clearly see labelling her “one big flop” is harsh… On this song though, I’m not really feeling it.

  5. she’s had more hits than White Flag & Life For Rent..

    btw this shit is hot!!!!

  6. This is one of the freshest pop songs I’ve heard in a long time, the whole EDM is cool, but when something more urban comes out. I think pop music might go more urban after the whole EDM craze.
