Skylar Grey: ‘C’mon Let Me Ride’ Feat. Eminem!

It’s been quite some time since we talked about Skylar Grey. The 26-year-old singer-songwriter was branded as the next big thing last year when she was preparing the release of her debut album Invinsible. Lead single “Invisible” flopped and it never saw the light of day. Since then, Skylar has taken some extra time to finish the album and is now ready to give her solo career another shot with a sexed-up new image and her new single called “C’mon Let Me Ride.” Produced by Alex Da Kid, “C’mon Let Me Ride” was mixed by and features Eminem and is a playful pop jam which samples Queen’s 1978 hit “Bicycle Race.” Skylar explans: “Having written many new songs, the album has become a completely different animal, hence the title change. This new single with Em, in particular, is very exciting. We have worked on so many serious songs together — it’s a nice change of pace to do something fun and sarcastic.” I have to say, I really don’t mind this; it’s fun, catchy, and tongue and cheek. A video was shot in Detroit last month, Skylar‘s debut album Don’t Look Down will be released early next year. Be sure to check it out!

Skylar Grey will release her new single “C’mon Let Me Ride” w/ Eminem on Tuesday (December 11)!

C’mon Let Me Ride

Skylar Grey or a.k.a Holly Brook, used to be such a talented artist. Shame she has lost everything that made her special. This song screams desperate.

  • DJH

How desperate. She wasn’t like this at all with her previous releases, and now to sell some records she has gone the “slutty” route? Disappointing, but not surprising.

  • Aibileen

Oh my lord this is so naughty naughty! WOW. She is Naughty Queen. WOW. This is next level more than Island Queen sexual. What the fuck? I’m so disappointed. She had so much potential and now she’s talking about Naughty Juice. WOW. NAUGHTY QUEEN! DISAPPOINTING! † DIABLO! ††††!!!!

  • frank

first when I saw the artwork, i thought: why so slutty? but after i heard the song, i thought: fun, fresh! besides, pop is sex. all leading mainstream female artists have songs that are “sluttier” than this. it’s not her usual music, and that’s not bad. change is good. i like the queen’s take in the song. i just hope that she makes new ballads because she’s great at it.

Not the biggest fan of sing song type melodies but for those of you calling her a slut did you not hear the bridge?

“I’m only fuckin with you, fuck you for thinking it’s true,
I’m not like the sluts in this town, they make me blah in my mouth”

If anything the lyric video is going too far. Also, Em’s guest appearances lately have been terrible.
