It’s been quite some time since we talked about Skylar Grey. The 26-year-old singer-songwriter was branded as the next big thing last year when she was preparing the release of her debut album Invinsible. Lead single “Invisible” flopped and it never saw the light of day. Since then, Skylar has taken some extra time to finish the album and is now ready to give her solo career another shot with a sexed-up new image and her new single called “C’mon Let Me Ride.” Produced by Alex Da Kid, “C’mon Let Me Ride” was mixed by and features Eminem and is a playful pop jam which samples Queen’s 1978 hit “Bicycle Race.” Skylar explans: “Having written many new songs, the album has become a completely different animal, hence the title change. This new single with Em, in particular, is very exciting. We have worked on so many serious songs together — it’s a nice change of pace to do something fun and sarcastic.” I have to say, I really don’t mind this; it’s fun, catchy, and tongue and cheek. A video was shot in Detroit last month, Skylar‘s debut album Don’t Look Down will be released early next year. Be sure to check it out!

Skylar Grey will release her new single “C’mon Let Me Ride” w/ Eminem on Tuesday (December 11)!
