Missy Elliott: ‘9th Inning’ + ‘Triple Threat’ Featuring Timbaland!

The wait is finally over! After a 7-year hiatus, Missy Elliott is back with “9th Inning” and “Triple Threat,” the new singles off her seventh album, tentatively titled Block Party. The 44-year-old hip-hop icon comes back full-force over the bass heavy beats courtesy of her longtime collaborator Timbaland. “Now I’m in the 9th inning, thought I fell off, I ain’t quite finish,” Missy raps in 9th Inning. “2012 there’ll be no games/ Real rap, real bars, I’m not playin’.” The dynamic duo are out for blood, the beats and Missy go hard. While the productions by no means sound new, it’s great to have Missy back in the game. Can’t wait for the new record! What do you guys think?

I hope they are just buzz singles, because they are not impressive at all. They sound pretty old.

Give me something else, Miss E. 🙂

i agree they’re not all that…missy should know by now Timbaland is not hot anymore…her lyrics are killing it tho…she needs to work some new producers…the missy and timbaland combination just aint popping anymore

While I do agree that these aren’t that amazing I don’t believe she should go the other route and work with the same producers as everyone else.

However I do think Timbaland needs a refresh.
