This weeks Song of the Week comes from Swedish singer-songwriter Erik Hassle. After weeks of featuring mostly upbeat club tracks, I thought I’d switch things up with a proper ballad. It’s been a little over a year since Erik released stellar mini-album Mariefred Sessions and now he’s back with a brand-new single “Stay.” Penned by Malin Dahlström of Niki & The Dove, “Stay” is the haunting and beautifully depressing lead single off his sophomore album due out later this year. Erik has been one of my favorite male pop vocalists ever since he dropped his debut, Pieces, back in 2010 and he never fails to impress me. “Stay” will without a doubt be one of the most gorgeous ballads released this year.
