What has been rumored for months has just been confirmed. Katy Perry will be releasing a special edition of her double-platinum certified album Teenage Dream on March 27! Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection will feature the original 12 tracks, three brand-new songs, “E.T.” Featuring Kanye West, “Last Friday Night” Featuring Missy Elliott, and the acoustic version of “The One That Got Away.”
“This is the complete story of Teenage Dream. It was an incredible honor to tie the King of Pop’s Billboard Hot 100 record, but I’m moving forward and had a few things left to get off my chest. So this is the complete special edition of my album for my fans,” Katy shared in a statement in the press release. What do you guys think?

Any success Katy Perry gets from this rerelease will not affect the record. In a billboard article about Katy Perry’s rerelease it states that if her singles were to go to no.1 they would not count towards her #1 singles received from “Teenage Dream” they would instead count towards “Confection”. As a Katy Perry fan I think it sucks I wish she would have set the record but I think it is only fair, because if and when “Part of Me” goes to no. 1 it should not count towards her album record.

LOL she’s so desperate. Katy, just because you tied or will beat MJ’s record, it doesn’t mean anything as they are generic, un-memorable (bar California Gurls and maybe even Firework) and Katy Perry as a whole is the definition of ‘basic’.
The cover is ugly too. She should seriously just stop milking Teenage Dream and see how her next album holds up to see if this whole era was just a one time thing or otherwise…

Are you stupid? The re-release will not affect the record whatsoever first of all. And second, these songs are contractually obligated to be released so she most likely wanted to get them out on a re-release instead of on another album.
